Pooja Hegde Refuses To Act In Gunasekhar’s Shakuntalam

DG girl Pooja Hegde is gradually gaining popularity with her acting. She already has some big Bollywood movies in her kitty. The dusky beauty is doing well in the South Indian film industry too, with films like Mugamoodi, Mukunda, Oka Laila Kosam, Rangasthalam, Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava and more.

Mohenjo Daro was the debut flick of Pooja in Hindi movies alongside Hrithik Roshan, the Geek God of Bollywood. She has also acted in Housefull 4. Pooja is quite swift in making her place in the glamour world.

Gunasekhar is all set to make a movie titled Shakuntalam under his own banner Guna Team Works. The movie will be a woman centric one. It will be projecting the mythological story from Mahabharata, which consists of the romantic saga of King Dushyanta and Sakunthala.

Gunasekhar, known for making Rudhramadevi, announced that he will make Shakuntalam. He also informed that two of the top actresses of recent times have been approached for the titular role. Pooja Hegde is one of them.

According to the sources, Pooja has refused to play the role of Sankunthala in Shakuntalam. Sources reveal that Pooja has justified it. She has said that she doesn’t want to take part in a woman centric movie as it is too early for her career. If Pooja had accepted the offer, she had to play the role of a mother on screen also, at one point. It is another reason why she rejected it.

Now, there are reports that Anushka Shetty is likely to be brought on board by Gunasekhar now to act in the lead role in his movie.
