Telugu film Pelli Choopulu‘s Tamil remake titled Oh Manapenne is coming soon. It will be the directorial debut of Kaarthikk Sundar. Harish Kalyan and Priya Bhavani Shankar have paired up for the movie.
Vijay Deverakonda played the lead role in Pelli Choopulu. He has released the first look of the film and also the title. The director has said about the title that in Telugu, Pelli Choopulu means matchmaking.
Kaarthikk and the team had wanted to choose a title which means matchmaking or wedding but couldn’t find something interesting earlier. Then, the director listened to Omana Penne from Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and realized that this name would be the most suitable one. Manapenn refers to bride in Tamil.
Kaarthikk said in about his debut as a director that he watched Pelli Choopulu just after it was released. He had talked to Harish about making its Tamil remake at that time. To him, it is no less than a miracle for him to get the movie. He expressed his gratitude towards his producers for this opportunity.
Talking about the film’s originality, Kaarthikk said that “The Telugu version had a soul and I didn’t want to hamper it. It is a faithful remake.”
The director praised the lead actor and the actress and said that their acting made the scenes become more perfectly and lively. As Kaarthikk was specific about the fact that the acting is not imitated from the original film, the actors didn’t disappoint him.
The filming of the movie was completed before the pandemic. Now post-production work is going on. Vishal Chandrasekhar will be the music composer for the film. The recording will start soon, informed the director. The songs will satisfy everyone’s ears, claims Kaarthikk.
